Depart morning from Kampala heading for eastern Uganda, Mount Elgon. In the foothills of Mount Elgon is where three beautiful falls, the Sipi Falls are found. Mount Elgon is a 4,321m high extinct volcano which in prehistoric times stood taller than Kilimanjaro. Have a stop over in the lively bustling market town of Mbale town. The capital of Bugisu land has the architecture reminiscent of the colonial area. Head to Sipi falls with dinner and overnight at Lacam Lodge/Sipi falls camp.
After enjoying a late breakfast while feasting on a magnificent view, go abseiling which takes about 4 hours. The unique and thrilling way for visitors to be able to view the Sipi falls while going down the edge of a 100 metre cliff. This gives you a wonderful view into the valley below and the opportunity to see the falls up-close. A threaded rope is used through a metal loop drilled into the rock above the waterfall and tied onto a harness placed around your waist. Have a quiet afternoon, relaxing after lunch. Spectacular scenery includes a variety of forest monkeys, buffalos, small antelopes, elephants and over 300 bird species found no where else in Uganda Dinner and overnight at Lacam Lodge/Sipi falls camp.
In the morning, take a walk to the base of the falls and relax while taking a dip in the cool water of the falls. Have a visit to the Nyero rock paintings, lunch and leave for Kampala.
